The Challenge

Training new members of a suicide hotline team required an interactive response support tool that worked in a low-bandwidth environment. The goal was to provide realistic scenarios with complex branching based on the caller’s mental state and the trainee’s responses, ensuring they applied their prior training effectively.

The Solution

A dynamic, scenario-based training module was developed using Articulate Storyline. A custom interface was designed to match the software the team used to handle suicide calls and text chats—enhancing familiarity and reducing learning time. The simulation exposed trainees to lifelike situations, requiring them to choose appropriate responses that shaped the conversation’s direction. This method reinforced their prior training in a controlled, immersive environment.
